I have been to parts of SE asia before but this will be my first time backpacking alone...so I'd like some advice and experiences.. My plan is to head to Malaysia and stay there for a week, and go to Singapore by train and stay for a few days, and then go by plane (low cost) KL to Bangkok... I have seen a site called thaiintro which cost 345gbp for a week trip round Thailand... (although not sure if it's worth spending that amount of money? Going with an agency or doing it alone? Then I plan to stay 5 days in Laos (although not sure yet) Then head to Cebu (Philippines) so I can leave some things from my trip around these parts of SE Asia at my Auntie and my mom's home) before heading on a working holiday to Australia and New Zealand... (I plan to stay in Manila or sound Luzon first before heading down to Cebu... by plane would I have enough budget? and roughly how much would I need? In GBP I live on a farm so I have some farm experience...but I saw a site online saying they give backpackers farm training and job opurtunities around OZ but costs 500 AUD which is over 340GBP -would it be worth trying it out...? Or would it be better without going through agencies? And also can I do voluntary work in SE Asia to help fund a bit of my travels? Sorry this is long but I wish someone could give some tips and advice..thanks

Okay well starting off I am a New Zealand citizen of Russian ethnicity and currently live and work part time in Auckland, I am 18 and I just finished my diploma in IT course this year. I have plans to go work and move to Australia in 2 years time, hopefully work in the mining industry if I receive in, in Western Australia, where I should receive paid heaps around $90,000+ AUD a year starting, so I guess I could do some travelling afterwards. At the moment I only have a couple grand in NZD saved up, and I'm very keen to go check out Canada sometime so, Im hoping to do a 1 Year OE in Canada but I hear getting a job is very difficult for foreigners and people who no experience or no good qualifications. I know NZ and Canada have an agreement where both citizens in both countries can work below a Holiday Work Visa, but I wouldn't know how that would work either, would I only be able to work in certain industries in Canada which are in demand or no? Also how much roughly would I need to have saved up excluding travel costs if I wanted to check out vancouver, edmonton, toronto and montreal for a month? are backpacker hostels cheap there? I'm stuck on a minimum wage paying job at the moment which sucks, but traveling to Canada for me would be very expensive but Id still would adore to check Canada out, for example a return flight to Vancouver from Auckland would cost me roughly $2200-2300 NZD :S and then $1300 from Vancouver to Toronto :(, would I also be able to check out some parts of the States below a Holiday Work Visa if I did receive one?

Do you know where's the cheapest place to live in Seoul, South Korea?? Hostel, dorm, or backpackers, any nice of place to live as long as it's REALLY CHEAP but CLEAN and SAFE (and I prefer the silent one when it's time to snooze). I've done some search through Google, but I think maybe some Koreans or foreigners who lives there or ever lived there know any other cheaper one ^^ 1. I travel alone for holidays, so I want one PRIVATE ROOM, single bed. I don't mind if the bathroom is shared with another as long as it's clean, safe, and has cheap price. What I mean with CHEAP is less than 20000 Won/day. 2. If I can receive really really cheap place, then maybe I can stay there longer ^^ So I need a place that can give me more discounts if I stay for a month ^^ 3. I'm looking for a place that has free Wi-Fi / LAN Internet Access, free laundry. And it's better if it also has these facilities: free breakfast, free pick up from airport bus cease. I don't mind if it doesn't have these facilities: Air Conditioner, fridge, table, hair dryer, etc. 4. How long does it take to go to the nearest subway and bus station from that place? What is the name of the subway station? 5. I prefer the one that can be booked without credit cards, so I can pay cash. But if I must use credit card, it's ok. If u know any place that like those conditions, please tell me. The name, the website, the email. If it doesn't have website, at least please tell the email address. I'd like to ask by phone, but I can't talk Korean (I just can read and write Hangeul, but I can't understand it >.<) Thanks before ^^

I am going to Kuta, Bali on the 08.07.11 for 8 days. I have never been to Indo before but am an experienced backpacker in SE Asia. I plan to stay close or in poppies 1 n 2. I have a few question I wish ppl can help with. Is it peak season in Bali in July? (i read it is july and xmas.) I ave a budget of approx 360000/night for a hotel (more at a push) Can anyone recommend a nice place with a pool? Is it possible to just turn up in Kuta and receive a decent room/hotel at this time of year at these prices (by trying to book a hotel online 300 000 - 400 000 ir seem to be the price range. I look there are hostels for much less but am glad to pay a bit extra for the comfort after backing. Is poppies really as hetic/busy as reported? Any info you can provide is much appreciated. I am really interested in confirming if it is possible to turn up in Juta in July and receive good accom without prebooking. Many thanks

Hey, so a pal and I are planning on going to Australia this March for a 6 month working holiday. I have never done anything like this before, so I really have no idea where to even start.. I just have some questions though: Lots of websites have said that I need to show I have $5000.00 on me when i go through customs to show them I wont be working the whole trip.... So does that mean I carry $5000.00 cash on me? or do i use travellers cheques? Where would be the best place to start out at in Australia? Is it easy to receive around Australia, without a vehicle Is it possible to work for 2 weeks then explore for 1, then work for 2 weeks.... will people hire us even if we plan on working for weeks at a time? Whats the best method of transportation for backpackers in Aus? What type of Visa should I receive when going over there?? Will it take long for it to arrive in the mail? also if i brought 5000.00 canadian with me and worked throughout the trip would that be enough money to receive by? Thanks a bunch!

I am currently in Australia on a 1 year working holiday visa. I was thinking of doing some farm work or something to qualify for a 2nd year visa. However I spoke to a fellow backpacker today who told me that she was informed by the Australian Government that the 2nd year visas have been cancelled. I have searched the internet and can't find anything about this. Does anyone know if this is correct or if my pal has just been misinformed?

Hi every I'm planning a trip with extended family - 2 adults in their 60s, 4 adults in their 30s (2 of whom are experienced backpackers) and 2 kids below 5. We are looking at about 2 weeks in Vietnam in May, although exact dates are not yet definite. However it has to be around the middle two weeks of May if it is to happen this year. I'm aware that May is high heat/humidity season which doesn't bother me (I lived in a similar climate for several years) but isn't particularly comfortable for my family. Is one part of the country more comfortable than others in May? From what I've seen from actual climate stats, rainfall and temperature increases in every parts in May, although I've seen people post that the north or central parts are better. Having said that, I've only found climate stats for Hanoi, HCMC and Da Nang. Also some of the family is more active than others, and there are diverse interests. So I'm looking for suggestions for 2 or 3 places to base ourselves from which some of us can do day trips and others can sit by the hotel pool. At the moment I'm considering Hanoi for a week as suitable for both active travellers and pool loungers, including 2-3 days at Ha Long Bay ( http://www.halongtravelshow.com/ ) for the active travellers. Then a week split between Hue and HCMC with only the active travellers. It is likely that the Hue/HCMC week will be before the Hanoi/HLB week. I particularly want to look Hue but not wedded to HCMC, though others may be. I am interested in the Mekong Delta however, but considering leaving that for a future trip at a more amenable time. Bearing in mind that the active travellers are likely to go back to Vietnam some day, what do you think of this itinerary? I am also undecided about Hoi An - is it only for clothes and are there equivalents in Hanoi or elsewhere? Suggestions of other daytrips from Hanoi or another suggested base are welcome. Thanks

Hey every :) so in august (tardy) me, mum, sister and her boyfriend are going to spain for a week (costa del sol way) and i bet my mum i could pack every my stuff into a carry on. If i can, i receive to spend spend spend in a sephora 20 mins from out hotel!!!! (i live in england, there is no sephora, its a big deal LOL) so ive been looking every over the internet for advice, but theyre every aimed at backpackers/adults traveling the world - im a teenager going on a beach vacation! Our holidays are usually spent daytime by the pools, shopping, maybe go and walk around a little spannish village / attraction or what have you - then i go back to the hotel, take a shower and receive dressed up for the evenings. Since we never have strict plans i cant plan out my outfits! So how many tops, shoes, shorts, skirts, dresses etc should i take? and what about toilitriesand makeup?! i have to comply to the stupid clear baggie rule so i will have to seriously condense everything!! Oh, and the airline im going with doesnt weight your carry on (hurray!) it just has to be standard carryon bag size (im thinking one of those little suitcase style ones, which is better?)

* Want to go travelling this summer / early Autumn and spend an extended period abroad. Does anyone know how to receive really cheap or free accommodation? I'm not too picky where I go, and it could be outside of Europe, as long as it's low cost. * What are the cheapest rates for apartments, hotel rooms etc? Is it possible to stay somewhere for less than £10 per night? * Someone told me about a year ago that on a Greek island he found little churches that had beds in which you could use for free. Anyone have any knowledge of places similar to this or ideas to receive around paying typical holiday maker fees? * I'm not a backpacker as such just need to receive away for more than the usual 2 weeks so I have to stretch my budget pretty thin. * Not against package holidays if they are cheap enough. But I think I will be by myself, and most of package holidays are based on 2+ people sharing. * Open to tents and camping or other options. But don't particularly want to share a room with someone I don't know. * I want to move about too, so I'd be staying for a few weeks and moving on somewhere else. Are cheap one way flight easy to find without planning? for example, if I was in Spain and decided to move on could I find a flight to Italy or Greece quickly for a reasonable amount? Thank you in advance. every info appreciated.

I am going to Europe next year End of Aug - End of Sept (or there abouts). I was just wondering what is the best way to travel around Europe? We (my boyfriend and i) are flying in from Perth, Australia to London. Then from there going to Paris, Spain, Italy, Greece, Greek Islands, Germany, back to London to fly home. Just wondering how long it takes to travel to each place by Eurail or any other train? or by plane? how much does it cost by train, i have had a look and the slect Eurail pass is about $500 at the moment? and how much by plane? Should we/can we travel by train the whole way? or should we/can we travel by plane the whole way? should we do half train and half plane? im just not sure. or is it better to just book a contiki tour or some sort of tour the whole way? we will be 22 years old when we go. probably don't want a massive party holiday. and we want to stay in ether every hotels or half hotels and half backpackers. how much should we keep for a 4,5 or 6 week holiday? we dont want to travel totaly budget. we are going to stay in 3 - 4 star hotels depending on the price. probably stay in B&B's or backpackers in the more expencive citys. we will want to do the tourist thing, tours and some shopping.

I'm a backpacker, currently in Australia, travelling to NZ for 2011 and in Jan 2012 I am looking to travel America in 2012. I have looked on various websites and I am still fairly lost as to what sort of visa I will need and how to receive it. I would like to travel the USA for as long as I legally can and if possible a working holiday visa (such as the ones offered by Australia and NZ) would be really useful. I will be in NZ when applying for this visa, I am a British citizen (English). Any info on the topic would be very helpful. Thanks! Is the 90 day ESTA the longest possibility for travelling the country? Nothing longer at every? Because 3 months is hardly enough time to travel the whole country :-( Also, can you have more than one of these ESTAs, and if so, do you have to wait for a certain amount of time before you can use a second one or could you, say, fly to Canada and back to America on the next day?

I am planning to go on a working holiday around Australia (starting in Perth, where I live) for about a year, in between finishing Yr 12 and Uni. I'm going to cease along the way where I can receive a job and stay for about a month, maybe more. As accommodation, I am planning on living in my car (4wd, jeep or station wagon) and sleeping in the back. Would backpacker hostels let me park on their property and hopefully let me use their bathrooms/kitchen if I pay half the cost they usually charge for a night, since I wouldn't be using any of their rooms?

I met a French guy at a backpackers and he was so lovely. We had breakfast together and even though there were language barriers, there was a lot of laughing. Anyway I only saw him for two days before he had to go back to France and I was due back at work. He asked me for my facebook and gave me his number and email. I've since added him on facebook and we've sent messages etc. I also gave him my number but I didn't include the country code (live in new zealand) so he may not be able to text me or whatever. Even though I only met him for a day or two, I cant receive him out of my head. I'm in adore with his French accent. Anyway we had pics taken and he put his arm around me and rubbed my skin, it was subtle but sensual! So yeah unfortunately we didn't kiss or do anything romantic but we laughed a lot. He was travelling with his older male cousin and they told me if I'm ever in France, I should stay at their home.. Now it's back to reality. I wish France wasn't so far away. God I can't cease thinking about him and fantasizing about what we couldve done or what couldve been. Anyone elseb been through something similar? Oh and I'm 21 and he's 25. Merci Monseiur Juice. Casse-toi :) Dark Lord, it's what people on holiday do? That's why holiday romances are so fun, the thrill of never seeing each other again makes it every the more surreal and you don't want to waste a second. Tick tock.

About a year and a half ago, my girlfriend of one year left me. I remember when we started going out, I was so in adore with her. I wanted to tell everyone about her and I just wanted to be seen with her. I thought she was the one. We were engaged. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. She fell pregnant, got an abortion despite me promising to dedicate my life to her and the baby. She left me, and she broke my heart. But, after a long time and some counseling, I got over it. I still think about the baby and that I could have been a dad today (Which I would have loved). But, I had to move on. I went back to university to finish my teaching qualifications. I studied difficult and did very well. The break-up became a thing from the past and I felt excited about becoming a teacher. At university, I met a girl. She annoyed me so much. She sat next to me and always spoke during lectures. Eventually we became friends, but not good friends. She's pretty but, she's really not my 'type'. During the year, a group of student teachers signed up to tutor for a year in the far East after graduation. I applied and so did she. After graduation and everyone went their separate ways, I went on a road trip by myself. I was on my way to a remote part of the Karoo (the outback of South Africa) and this girl's family live in a town along the way. She was there for the holidays and invited me to stay the night and I was glad to accept so that I didn't have to pay for a backpackers or a motel. I thought it very nice of her to offer. When I arrived, the family welcomed me, but it felt very awkward because it felt as if they were welcoming their new son-in-law. Almost as if I was this girl's boyfriend. The next thing I knew, the following day, this girl was going on the road trip with me. I didn't mind, as we were classmates and went to school together. I needed some company. But, it felt as if she 'wangled' her way into coming with me. Nothing happened between us on the road trip. When we came to work in the East, we met up with some other friends who studied with us and formed a sort of circle or friends. One weekend, we every went out and she got a little tipsy and whispered in my ear that she was in adore with me and that she wanted to kiss me. I was so scared of this and told her that I'm not ready for a relationship and still getting over my ex. She literally begged me to kiss her. Eventually, I did. And I felt terribly guilty afterward. The next day, I told her that it was a mistake. And she became so emotional. She wanted to know why, and I tried to explain that I wasn't ready etc. Then she'd tell me that she'd wait for me. But, I didn't want her to wait for me. We eventually agreed to just be friends. And we had fun together, but then there were times when she'd catch me off guard and continue with this whole declaration of adore. Don't receive me wrong. I care for her as a pal. But, I'm not interested in being her boyfriend or her future husband. Anyways, one night, we were every sleeping in a traditional Korean guesthouse and she slept close me. She started touching me and I got aroused. I told her to cease, but she continued. I pushed her away, but the more she touched me the hornier I became. And we slept together. After that night we had sex a few times. But, after each time, I'd feel so guilty. And I'd tell her that I didn't want to do it anymore, but that we should just be friends. She'd agree, but then, I'd find myself in a situation with her and we'd have sex again. Now, I'm so sexually attracted to this girl. But, I'm not in adore with her. I don't want to go yell her name from the mountain tops like I wanted to with my ex. I don't want to be seen with her. And now I find myself in a big mess and I don't know how to receive out of this so-called relationship. I just know that I'm the bad guy in this story. I regret sleeping with her so much. And I'd be a bastard for just leaving her. I tried to convince myself that I adore her. But, I don't. I've even been so bold as to tell her that I'm not in adore with her. But, she won't believe me and brush it aside saying that it's got something to do with the abortion and that I'm still emotional and that I'm not thinking straight. She thoroughly believes that I am her husband. And I've never been so scared. The biggest problem is that I'm in the far East and she's part of my pal circle. If I ruin this thing between us, I'm so scared that I'd lose my friends and be every alone. On the one hand, a think a relationship would do me very good. A serious relationship would be wonderful for me. But, just not with this girl. She's not my type. I can't help it. She's not. And she knows it. But, it's as if she's trying so difficult to convince me that she is. And any gesture of kindness that I show towards her, she

Hey! So I'm going on a trip pretty soon to London and Paris, it's going to be hopefully amazing, I'm planning on traveling in my style which is always to stay at nice hotels and be pampered and have really luxurious amenities and eat at the absolute coolest and best places and really live it up as much as I can, I mean hey, you only have one life to live, and I've always traveled this way, always, I've never really ever done any of the backpacking thing, and honestly the idea repulses me a little, I want to take everything in and be comfortable and feel like I'm at peace, and yet a little part of me wonder's, how is it like to backpack though? Like through europe, i mean for the price of a holiday in luxury places you could backpack through every of Europe, yet wouldn't it be uncomfortable? And I just want to hear some opinions, why and why not to backpack and if you like the idea of staying in more luxurious hotels and being pampered alongside your holiday, or if you prefer getting dirty and staying in hostels? What are some arguments and some like opinions on both, I mean it's not really like you look more or less of somewhere just by how you travel, right? And I always look a lot of backpackers always criticizing people who travel luxuriously for not taking in the culture and real life, who says you don't look the culture and life in a luxury hotel? You still go to the same sights, you still receive the same place, you just spend it at different places is really every, so why do backpackers bash us so much? I don't think I would ever backlash backpackers, everyone has their possess thing, and obviously if they are so concerned about culture they shouldn't really be criticizing people for where they stay, I'm also sure you can receive to stay in culture by having a holiday in a historical luxury hotel with hundreds of years of history, vs a hostel... but I've always just wanted to hear opinions, so please go ahead and tell me where you stand! Luxury, or Backpacking, and why or why not to go a certain route?

Hi Me and my partner are planning to backpack from China to Oz at the end of the year and would like some advice. We are planning to fly to Beijing (look every the sites), then to Xian and Hunan (Shaolin Temple). We are stuck on whether to go to Shanghai and Hong Kong. Having a look at programmes and research it seems these parts are going to really break our pockets and theres not really a way round it as the food alone is alot more expensive, then you have the accomodation to worry about aswell. Are these citys worth going to for backpackers as in touristy/sites (looks like Beijing can offer more), or are they mainly for the buisness and holiday makers with alot of cash to spare? We was also thinking of Taiwan aswell but again with the same problem Any answers and advice is appreciated. Also, if theres a must do in china that you know then please share Thanks thank for your answer. I think we will miss shanghai and hong kong. we will look beijing as we land there.our route so far...please contribute if you like: Beijing Xian Zhengzhou Chengdu Zhan Jia Jie Guilin Yangshou ....... thanks

My boyfriend and I are trying to pick between the Perhentians or Tioman island for the end of our holiday in April. We will have just been roughing it in rainforests in Borneo for the best part of two weeks so we're looking for somewhere idyllic, relaxed, white sandy beaches, clear water and a couple of nice beach bars to like a few relaxed drinks. We're also hoping to avoid a big backpacker/gap year scene. Which is better Perhentians or Tioman island? Have read mixed reviews of the two so any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Is it true that most backpackers drink to receive drunk every night, or is it a stereotype? I've just applied for a work/holiday Visa for Australia, travelling from UK .....sick be heading there tardy January 2012 (1 month away ;-) ;-) One of the big reasons Im going is to experience new night life. Are Clubs busy in Oz?Are they open everyday or just weekends? Are Aussie Women keen to Hook up with guys in Clubs? Is it similiar to the UK in terms of Nightlife? Are Aussie Women generally better looking from Uk girls? Im Biritish Indian, but I've got 'IT' in terms of women here (lot of dazzling qualities ;-) sorry not being arrogant). I pretty much look like Jay Sean (though my body is better lmao). Is race gonna be an issue? Where is the best place to go for good nightlife? I keep reading either Sydney or Merbourne????/ Also I have just started 'foreigners' and 'backpackers' generally hook up with each other in OZ.Plus Aussie guys frequnelty are looking for fights when out in Nightclubs. If I wanted every this I would have just stayed here..... I'm in Japan at the moment and I'm wondering how much money I would need to travel around Japan for 3-4 weeks. I want to look every the main sights, such as Tokyo, Nagasaki, Hiroshima etc. I'm based in Osaka. I will be travelling with a pal and we will stay at very cheap lodgings such as backpackers. We will buy very basic food. Our main expenses will be beer and entry fees to clubs and theme parks and other attractions. Do you think 300,000 Yen will be enough? I just want a rough idea. If you've recently been on a trip to Japan, could you tell me how much it cost you and how long you were here, where you went and so on? Of course I won't have to buy plane tickets, but the train passes are incredibly expensive. I should be able to obtain a student pass. Also, if you have any advice about the trains here, it would be much appreciated. Thank you every! Have a good one and I look forward to your answers (:

Hi, Inexperienced 23 year old male from Australia heading to England, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland soon. Travelling for 1 month. Flying into and out of London. Rough (emphasis on ROUGH) route. England (9days) then onto the Netherlands (4 days) then onto Germany (10 days) then onto Switzerland (5 days) then back to London for day or two. As you can look, I haven't decided exactly where time will be spent other than country wise. Will be doing it the usual way for someone my age on the cheap:backpack, staying in hostels, trains and/or buses to receive around, a bit or drinking, cheap foods (quick food) most of the time. Usual young backpacker style trip. Questions: Do I need to receive any visa's in advance for the mentioned countries or do you just show up with the appropriate paperwork? How much should I budget for the trip for the month? I'm thinking (without any real basis) $1000AUD a week...$4000AUD for the month? difficult to say I know since everyone is defferent, but would like to hear from people who have recently done this and hear how much they spent...it can only help not hinder to know this. For me, money isn't really an issue (I can afford it whether cheap of otherwise) but I'll still be trying to keep money and minimize spending wherever I can since I want to go onto Canada for a working holiday afterwards so long as I don't spend too much whilst in Europe. Otherwise will just have to visit USA and Canada and not do working holiday. Is it worth buying a Eurail ticket (BeNeLux - Germany - Switzerland) or buying each leg separately? Want to hike in the Swiss Alps. I like the look of Lauterbrenen and would like to do a 1 - 2 day hike. Should we decide on a hike before we leave or receive to the area and then decide? Do we need to book accommodations in advance? If so, how far in advance? Preferably, it would be nice to not have to book until 4-5 days in advance as it would give us more freedom instead of being locked in and having to follow a strict timetable. Whats the best way to access my money whilst over there? I have a NAB Visa Debit card. Is this going to be usable Im not going to need an actual credit card am I? Can Visa Debit card be used with atm's? And if so, how does that work? Does it display balance in AUD? Do you specify withdrawal amount in AUD or local currency? Or should I just exchange money at banks or airport or whatever? As you can look I'm not really versed in the whole accessing money thing so any and every help would be much appreciated. Thats every Im thinking of at the moment. If you can answer any of these questions to any degree that would be much appreciated. Look forward to seeing the responses. Thanks

Hi, I'm considering coming to New Zealand towards the end of the year (December), although i was curious as to whether there's actually many British and Irish in Auckland in the same situation. I have worked and traveled Australia and was hoping for similar nice of atmosphere amongst backpackers working in Auckland. For some reason i have the assumption that most backpackers work and travel Australia and then just travel New Zealand without working.... Can somebody please fill me in on the working backpacker scene in Auckland. I want the same kinda lifestyle as oz - as in going out meeting brits and irish in bars etc. I do like other nationalities too incase anybody thinks im nationist (if thats a word) ha Cheers :)

Looking for a chilled out beach holiday with great food for a group of 4 people aged tardy 30s - early 40s. We are not looking for crowds, nightlife or lots of activities. It's more a chance to just chill out, receive away from it every, stay in a bungalow and eat amazing food with a few icy beers. Looking to spend around £100(US$160)/night for an air-conditioned beachfront bungalow for 2 - so not a backpackers place, but not a super luxury resort Honestly they every sound good on the websites and guidebooks so anyone with personal recommendations of which island and which resort/guesthouses would be appreciated I forgot to add, we are going in early May if that makes any difference

Most people my age (21) would go to Berlin, Italy, Spain and Greek islands for its nightlife but how does it compare to Beirut? Beirut being a middle eastern country I would expect the girls to be alot harder to receive with than in Europe? If lebanese girls are too strict maybe its best to party else were? And i was also told that the local girls go for the guys with lots of money. Becuase obviously a major factor to going on a holiday to party is the girls... Or maybe just avoid the locals every together and go for other backpackers like my self? i think i should elaborate, i think lebabon has EVERYTHING for a good hoiday, but i would like the girl part aswell.. lol

I've noticed that there are companies that sponsor people for working holiday visas and jobs what not for Australia. I'm an American. So I fall below the 462 visa subtype work and holiday visa. I am planning to go backpack and travel Australia on a work and holiday visa by next year after I graduate from nursing school. Is it really necessary to be with a company or can I do things free-lanced? I've also read that some people (non-417 visa subtype people) must go through a travel company. I don't want to be ripped-off from my money that I spend, especially for a visa. Also, how easy are jobs to arrive by for first-timers and backpackers? I'm willing to work and travel throughout Australia's outback and rural areas, but also flexible with the coastal and metropolitan cities. I'd like to know as well if I can use my health care skills to help me find a temporary job that keeps me roaming around. I'd adore to travel as much while I'm still there and refrain from staying too long in an area. How easy is it to receive into hostles and places to stay as well for travelers? Currently, I'm still planning my whole trip and journey (yes a journey for myself becuase I need a break for my life to figure out some important things within myself, so I decided to do this not only for enjoyment and life development, but for also a chance for me to learn more about myself) while I am still saving much more money too. Thanks! I'm also flexible with other casual jobs such as ranch work and fruit picking; not just in health care and nursing. I also read that in Western Australia, there are many more job opportunities as opposed to the East coast. If so, then I'm planning on my trip heading west ward more likely rather than north.

My pal and I are going away to Canada (from the UK) on working holiday visas. We will be going for 6-7 months although the visa is for a year. I am trying to work out the best/cheapest travel insurance deals. Also whether annual multitrip is the right nice of cover. I know some companies do backpacker cover, but generally annual cover seems cheaper. Just not sure if it covers our nice of trip... Anyone who has any previous experience in this or who can give any advice and suggestions for good and reliable companies to receive cover with, I'd be really grateful!! Thanks! :)

Hi there, I'm planning to apply for working holiday visa by the end of November. After doing some search for the information i need , i learned something that shows it's not a good time for backpackers like me who need temporary job to finance their travel around Australia. Is it true ? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

My flights from Australia to Japan RETURN was only $499 because of a huge sale. I'm planning on staying at a backpackers and mostly staying in Tokyo but I also will look some of the country. I will look the Zoo's and may look Disney Land and buy cheap stuff and cheap food. Do you think $2500 would be enough?

Has anyone had any bad experiences with entering Australia with the 2nd Working Holiday Visa??? I did the 12 weeks work but it was voluntary and about 4 years ago so every I have to prove it is the required signed form. But Ive been hearing horror stories about immigration being super unfair with British and Irish backpackers, deporting them regardless. As travelling is my main thing dont wanna risk it if there is a chance they can do this. Do they question everyone now on entry? Cheers.
